The Women’s Studies Centre, inaugurated on 23 December 2008, has been supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Centre operates with a focus on teaching, research, extension, field outreach, and training related to women’s issues. Its primary goal is to contribute to the upliftment of women at the community level and to make higher education more accessible to female students.
In addition, the Centre seeks to foster intellectual engagement among diverse groups, including activists and NGOs working in the field of women’s empowerment. It also emphasizes skill development and capacity building among various groups of women, enabling them to realize their potential and compete on equal footing with men in a global context.
