Brief Profile of Vice-Chancellor
Dr. Bommagowni Anitha, aged 53, is a distinguished academician currently serving as a Professor at S.K. Institute of Management, S.K. University, Ananthapuramu. With an extensive career spanning 30 years, Dr. Anitha has held the position of professor for 14 years, associate professor for 8 years, and assistant professor for 8 years, all at S.K. University. Her tenure is marked by significant contributions to teaching, research, and administration within the institution.
Dr. Anitha's academic qualifications are equally impressive. She earned her Ph.D. in Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management from Sri Krishnadevaraya University in 1995. Her thesis, titled “Quality of Work Life in Commercial Banks – With Special Reference to Andhra Bank and Vysya Bank,” showcases her early dedication to understanding and improving workplace environments. She also holds an MBA from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, obtained in 1988, and a B.Com. from S.V. University, Tirupati, completed in 1986.
Throughout her career, Dr. Anitha has organized and led numerous impactful workshops and seminars. Notable events include the National Seminar on ‘Global Economic Turbulence- Recrafting HR Strategies’ in January 2009 and the International Conference on ‘Economic Turbulence: Shifts in Business Strategies and Practices’ in July 2009. She has also spearheaded workshops like the ‘Gender Sensitivity’ workshop for B.Tech students in March 2010 and the National Seminar on ‘Transformation of Global Trade Landscape- Issues, Challenges and Opportunities’ in February 2017. Her efforts in organizing these events underscore her commitment to addressing contemporary issues and advancing knowledge in her field.
In recognition of her exceptional research in Human Resource Management, Dr. Anitha was honored with the Distinguished Woman Award by the Venus International Women Awards Foundation in 2019. She has actively participated in various prestigious seminars and workshops, such as the UGC National Seminar on Corporate Ethics and the National Seminar on Indian Ethos in Management. Her research endeavors include a major UGC-funded project on "Consumer Behaviour in Rural and Urban Areas," further establishing her as a leading scholar in her domain.
Dr. Anitha has also made significant administrative contributions to S.K. University. She has served as the Additional Warden for three women's hostels and as the Director of the Centre for Women Studies. Additionally, she has been involved in various administrative committees, showcasing her leadership and organizational skills. Her membership in professional associations, such as the Indian Institute of Public Administration and the National HRD Network, reflects her active engagement with the broader academic and professional community.
A prolific author, Dr. Anitha has published several books on diverse topics, including personality development, strategic marketing, and quality of work life. Some of her notable works include "Good Beginning for Great Success- A Comprehensive Guide to Personality Development" and "Transformation of Global Trade Landscape- Issues, Challenges and Opportunities." Her guidance has led to the successful completion of numerous research theses in various areas of management, demonstrating her dedication to mentoring and developing future scholars.
Beyond her academic and administrative roles, Dr. Anitha has been actively involved in extension work and organizing programs aimed at enhancing professional skills and educational quality. She has conducted executive development programs for A.P. Lightings Limited and training programs on communication skills for Syndicate Bank probationary officers. Her efforts extend to improving education quality as a patron “Inspirer” and serving as Secretary of the Parent-Teacher Association at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ananthapuramu. Dr. Anitha’s multifaceted contributions highlight her commitment to excellence in academia, research, and community service.
